Garvald Centre

Main information

Type of service: Day services, Residential services, Supported living schemes

Garvald Centre provides day and accommodation services to people with learning disabilities based on the work of Rudolf Steiner, including Eurythmy therapy. Garvald Edinburgh offers diverse and creative day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities across the city using both our own buildings and through supporting members in using community settings including colleges and obtaining both paid and voluntary work. We have seven workshops at 454/1 Gorgie Road which include Bakery, Confectionary, Puppetry, Joinery, Furniture Restoration and Tools and four more workshops at Orwell Arts which include Pottery, Glass and Weaving. Both day service areas incorporate education and therapy services. We provide a Care Home and Supported Tenancy support to one community house and to 19 flats across Merchiston, Slateford Green and various outreach locations around the centre of Edinburgh.
