This group was established in 2003 in response to the recommendation from the National Autism Plan for Children (NAS:2003) that: ‘Each local area should develop a multi-agency coordinating group that will oversee the development of local area ASD.services’ (2003:48). The group meets regularly and includes representatives from parents, health, education, the voluntary sector and social services. The group reports to the commissioning group within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The chairperson of this group is Elizabeth Elliott.
