Provides outreach services to adults with ASD, and a play scheme for 4 to 17 year olds. Also provides assessment and consultancy services to parents and professionals, free advice, phone support and advocacy. Referrals usually come from social services, but sometimes from health and education. Provides specific training days or half days around the following topics: Introduction to autism spectrum disorders; Young people and adults with Asperger syndrome (1 or 2 day course); Behaviours of concern in autism spectrum disorders; Relationships and sexuality in ASD; Forensic issues in autism spectrum disorders. Other training courses are provided upon request, and all training is tailored as best as possible to the requirents of the delegates. Training courses are provided to professionals working in health, social work, education and voluntary sector. Training for parents is provided within our own and local support groups. Training is sometimes provided jointly with adults who experience ASD. Trainer holds a degree in autism obtained via Birmingham University, and has 18 years experience working with people and families affected by ASD. We can accommodate small groups of up to 12 people for delivery of training at our premises, but generally training is provided at organisation's site or alternative venue.
