At Greenfield School Merthyr, we have a junior department and a senior department. There are approximately 80 pupils in the seniors and approximately 60 pupils in the juniors. The schools often join together for special events. We have many facilities at Greenfield School Merthyr to cater for our children's varying needs, which are also used by other children in our community. We have a swimming pool, opti-music room, sensory rooms, an art room, music room and newly refurbished Information and Computer Technology (ICT) and technology departments. Some of the services provided by the school are funded by other supporting agencies such as health and social services. Some are part funded. Greenfield School Merthyr caters for a wide range of special needs including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We are now really proud to announce that we have an Early Bird and Early Bird Plus team running from Greenfield School Merthyr the first round of training is due to begin shortly. We are also using the Unlocking the Potential of Special School to develop an outreach service to support inclusion of children with ASD in mainstream schools.
