Type of service: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

A multi-disciplinary service providing assessment and treatment for children from infancy up to the age of 16, or 18 if the young person is still attending school at the time of referral. The service is offered to children with significant emotional and psychological health problems and their families living in Gwent. Such problems may include: self-harming behaviours, eating problems, ritualistic behaviour such as repeatedly checking things or hand washing, hearing voices, severe anxiety, problems with concentration and attention, and so on.
