Hawkhill Day Hospital is part of NHS Tayside. Operates a five day service Monday to Friday. Hawkhill aims to cater for adults with a learning disability over the age of 18 with predominantly severe or profound learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Hawkhill covers Dundee as well as Angus. Admission criterion is a short-term admission with a specific target. We offer detailed assessment and/or treatment of psychiatric disorders and behaviour disturbances with emphasis on consideration of all the individual's needs. The service offers multi-disciplinary input for adults with a learning disability and challenging behaviour. Referrals usually come from Community Nursing, Education, GPs, carers themselves and from Child and Adolescent Psychiatry service.
