Heartshore Horses
Main information
Type of service: Interventions and therapies, Play and leisure
Heartshore Horses is a riding school that adds something new to the traditional riding school experience. Its founding principles are to create a place to facilitate the learning and development of both people and horses, and to foster healthy relationships between the two. The horses are kept in as natural an environment as possible, and a typical lesson at Heartshore teaches all aspects of horsemanship, including horse welfare and communication. As well as teaching children and adults to ride they offer hacks through the beautiful Cotswold countryside. They have a herd of 16 well cared for horses and are able to meet the specific needs of individual clients, and offer tailor made sessions according to requirements. Heartshore also offers therapeutic services for horses and people. They work with children with autism (and their families) as well as children with learning or behavioural difficulties. The atmosphere is welcoming and the environment is relaxing and stress free. Heartshore has evolved in a way that enables children to have as much freedom as possible and to explore and enjoy being outside with the horses and other animals who live there. .
