Offers dietary interventions. Having graduated from the Robert Gordon University in 1998 with an honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, I worked as a Dietitian (Dietician) in the NHS for 9 years. My special interest is Paediatrics and having moved back to Aberdeen my private practice addresses the dietary needs of children and young adults. With special reference to autism, I worked with the special schools and child development centres, set up a 'feeding clinic' for children who had limited variety in their diets, and have worked with children who have a diagnosis of autism and their families in an out-patient capacity. Those children would be referred requiring dietary assessment and advice on encouraging dietary adequacy, families wanting to try gluten and/or gluten and casein free diets, and those wanting additive free diets. The assessment includes a discussion on medical history and current treatment, diet history and food frequency, social information, discussion about what the family would like from the consultation and longer term dietary modification. A brief overview of the dietary action plan will be sent to the family's GP/Consultant. Home visits are standard, and I would also be willing to visit a child's nursery, school or college.
