Housing Options is a national advice service for people with learning disabilities and their families and carers. Housing Options provides free information and practical advice by phone and email. Opening hours for the Housing Options helpline are Monday 2-9pm, Tuesday - Friday 10am - 5pm. They can deal with financial and legal issues and answer questions on supported housing, trusts, benefits, renting etc. Housing Options provides Housing Options Plans. This is a method used to present and discuss options available for individuals. A meeting is held with the individual, their family and carers, friends and other key people. A personal plan is then produced which provides a framework for discussing and recording details which will shape decisions. A Housing Options Plan can be commissioned by a local authority, family or care provider. Housing Options is supported financially by members organisations, who are both service providers and local authorities. Tribunals can be attended.
