Autism Service Directory

Inside Out

Main information

Type of service: Play and leisure

Student volunteers run activities or day trips every other Sunday. As they are students, this service is unfortunately only available during their academic term-time. The service is open to young people with autism and their siblings. The facilities listed below are available as part of the range of activies and trips provided by Inside Out. Activities include pet therapy, swimming, bowling, arts and crafts, cookery, sports, etc. Trips away have included archery, soft play areas, local farms, animal centres, the cinema, etc. Where possible, all activities aim to be in line with the Youth Work Curriculum Statement for Wales - educative, participative, expressive, and empowering. Anyone on the autistic spectrum can be referred by their parent/carer or can self-refer. They would need to provide their address so that they can be sent a membership registration form. Once this has been returned, and once Inside Out is satisfied that the person meets the project criteria and that they have sufficient knowledge of their needs, then the person can be invited on the project.
