Integrated Treatment Services (ITS) Coffee Afternoons
Main information
Type of service: Local groups
The service provides coffee afternoons for parents/carers in order to provide information, support and an opportunity to meet other parents, whose children might or might not have a specific diagnosis. Each session will give an overview about a specific topic and may include statementing, choosing a school, accessing National Health Service (NHS) therapy, working with outreach and pre-school teachers, choosing therapy approaches and specific therapy approaches such as Sensory Integration, Talk Tools and Colourful Semantics. The session will include time to ask questions and create an opportunity to meet other parents in a low key and relaxed forum in order to build support networks and share experiences. The sessions will run every two months on a Friday afternoon. The sessions will be held at the Steps Conductive Education Centre in Shepshed. Everybody is welcome, but unfortunately it is not appropriate to take children.
