Jubilee Court - Autism Support & Care
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Jubilee Court was purpose built in 2008. The service is designed specifically to meet the complex needs of adults with autism whose behaviours may challenge mainstream services. It is registered for 13 people and is able to offer a respite facility. Within the service there are 2 self contained flats as well as other 'Step-up, Move-on' facilities, which enable people to experience and learn skills for more independent living in the future. The service aims to provide an environment where people can live safely, express themselves without fear or hindrance, and develop to their full potential. .
It is located in Sutton-in-Ashfield, in close proximity to all community-based amenities. There are rail and motorway links nearby. Its location is also convenient for rural activities to be undertaken, for example, animal husbandary, local and country walks and access to National Trust properties. .
We use various learning & development techniques adapted for the individual, the most common being the TEACCH approach. This approach is used to design person-centred support around peoples individual strengths, skills, interests and needs, enabling the individual to be as independent as possible. .
The service works in close collaboration with other agencies, including Advocates, SaLT, Psychology, Psychiatry, Community Nurses, GP's and other community-based health services, as well as local colleges, community centres and those supporting employment opportunities. .
