Type of service: Play and leisure

KEEN York (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) is for children with any form of disability/special educational needs and disability (SEND) aged 6-12 years and their siblings (allow siblings for confidence, siblings need not have an SEND). We welcome all additional needs and are geared towards the majority, as of yet we don't have any motor disabilities/wheelchair users. Although we can accommodate for these individuals, we would need prior warning as to develop our sessions and obtain appropriate equipment. We are student led and all our volunteers are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and safe guarding checked students from the University of York. We have members of the committee and volunteering team who are Makaton trained and a couple who have worked extensively in this field before. We are a fun loving and enthusiastic group of people - so come along and have great fun with us.
