Lakeside School is a co-educational day special school with residential provision off-site, catering for 32 Key Stage 1 (KS1) and KS2 pupils who exhibit complex learning and communication difficulties with associated challenging behaviours. In some exceptional circumstances children may continue their schooling into Year 7 and 8. This school is situated in a rural environment, on the outskirts of Liverpool, close to the junction of the M57 and M62. Pupils are grouped according to developmental level and ability and are educated in mixed groups. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. We accept university students as volunteers who are completing courses such as psychology, special needs and teaching. Other facilities provided by the school are a food technology room, vegetable patches and a poly-tunnel.
