Provides a diagnostic service for adults with a learning disabilty living in Lanarkshire. Multi-disciplinary assessment involving Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and other services if required e.g. Physiotherapy, Dietetics. Uses standard assessment tools, information gathering interview with family/carers and meeting/observation sessions with the individual. Post-diagnostic support is offered, including training for parents/carers.
Assessment procedure: Use standardised assessment tools. Information gathering interview with family/carers. Meeting/observation sessions with individual. Access to child health/medical notes and other professional notes. Discussion with multi-disciplinary team.
Follow up service: Referral to other disciplines if required. Post-diagnostic support. Training for parents/carers.
