Lancashire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
Main information
Type of service: Diagnostic services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
CAMH Services for children and young people in Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen local authority areas. CAMHS provides help and treatment for children, young people and their families, who are experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, including mental health problems or disorders. This specialist multi-disciplinary service involves a range of professionals, usually based within a Health setting and with clinical leads from Consultant Psychiatrists and Psychologists. Requests for involvement to the service can be made by any child care professional. However a current Common Assessment Framework needs to be open to ensure that this service is only requested for children and young people that have more specific and specialist needs. If you are concerned about the emotional well being of a child or young person you are working with, you can contact your local CAMHS team for advice.
