The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Special Resource Base (Rainbow Rooms). The new Langlands Primary School is a two stream school, designed to provide schooling for primary aged pupils with up to 80 pre-school places. It also incorporates an additional support needs (ASN) facility which can serve the needs of pupils on the autism spectrum and pupils with learning difficulties. The facility also provides an outreach service for mainstream schools. The original school was demolished to make way for the new building on the same site, which has been re-developed to accommodate the new single storey building, together with the provision of outdoor spaces for learning and teaching, recreation, as well as social and sports activities. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
