Le Rondin is a purpose built school and centre which opened in 2005. We are a generic special needs primary school, who also provide assessment places for pupils from mainstream schools. There is a language and communication base at Key Stage 1 (KS1) and KS2. Some pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are taught within the class groups. There is nursery provision on a part time basis. Some of these sessions specifically cater for pupils with a diagnosis of ASD. In addition to the school a number of specialist services are based in the centre, including the communication and autism service, the sensory support service, and the literacy support service. These services mainly support pupils in the mainstream schools. Health and Social Services departments also have offices and treatment rooms within the centre. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils with Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks. Another intervention, approach and programme offered by the school is signalong.
