Leah Burman is a Consultant Child and Educational Psychologist specialising in autism/ASD assessment and intervention. She has over twenty years experience of working within a Local Education Authority context. She has been a service manager for over ten years. She is also an experienced school inspector accredited by the Office for Standards in Education and has taken part in inspections of mainstream schools. She has published in national journals and has lectured at universities and conferences. Leah is a member of the Association of Educational Psychologists, the British Psychological Society, and the the Association of Independent Educational Psychologists. Leah assesses and provides advice and interventions to pupils across the continuum of severe to mild difficulties. The assessment procedure entails observation and schedules, psychometric assessment (WISC-4, WPPSI, CARS, ASDS, ADOS, GARS, WISC IV, WIAT-II UK, Dineland-2), and liaison with other professionals. Leah has close links with specialist speech and language therapists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, occupational therapists and teachers. Leah accepts private referrals, can provide independent reports and can make visits to home or nursery/school/college.
