The CAMHS Learning Disabilities team accepts referrals from professionals involved with a child, such as: .
- GPs
- Social workers
- Teachers etc
A referral letter is required to provide us with relevant and up-to-date information. At present, we do not accept referrals directly from parents or carers. Referrals to the Consultant Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Psychiatrist, Dr David Bramble, will require an accompanying letter from a medical specialist or GP. .
Assessment procedure: One hour O.P session and school reports and other assessment measures as required. School health records/statement details also checked. Observations in school and other settings.
Follow up service: Yes, usually one follow up O.P session.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, professions involved: Clinical psychology, psychiatry, nursing, paediatrics, behaviour therapist, Children's Intensive Psychology Service "CHIPS".
