Leeds Family Placement Service

Main information

Type of service: Fostering, Respite and short breaks

Offers a support service to disabled children and adults and their families. This consists of a sitting scheme, short breaks, overnight and day care, emergency care, long term and shared care fostering and adoption for disabled children. The sitting scheme is very flexible and sitters can do whatever activities children and families want inside or outside the home. There are six professional short break carers, five with ground floor accommodation and one who specialises in promoting care for children with ASD. If parents are using a specific approach or programme, carers may be able to continue with this approach when working with the child. Referral is via a social services assessment.
