Market Field is a school for pupils aged 5 to 16 years with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and enhanced provision for pupils with autism. This means that there are specialised classes for pupils with more severe autism, supervised by an experienced autism co-ordinator and links into the main body of the school to support pupils with less severe autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. The school uses the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework. This is part of a wide and eclectic range of interventions based on gentle teaching and positive approaches. Another intervention, approach & programme offered by the school is Positive Learning for Life Using Supportive Strategies (PLLUSS). They have an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) phase.
