Type of service: Advocacy (general)

The scheme has existed for 6 years and is funded by local PCTs. It provides 1:1 professional advocacy in North West Surrey for people with mental health problems and/or learning disabilities either in hospital or the community. Hospital sites are Ashford and St Peter's (Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Trust) and boroughs of Woking, Spelthorne, Elmbridge and Runnymede in Surrey. Anyone involved with secondary services, mental health or learning disability (Spelthorne only) is covered. Older people with mental health problems in hospital in Hounslow are also covered.
