The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is Tree House. All children in the Midfield Special Opportunities Unit (SOU) have a primary diagnosis of ASD. The unit is split into a Key Stage 1 (KS1) and KS2 class. There are 17 children on role. Children are taught within the unit setting and in mainstream classes where appropriate. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
