Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Located in Cambuslang, on the outskirts of Glasgow, Millburn supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and autism. We are passionate about encouraging the individuals we support to make their own choices about the assistance they receive, and together help to build positive outcomes for everyone. Situated in surroundings, Millburn provides a service with an emphasis on social inclusion and independence. It offers access to the local community and further afield to Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Our approach to support: Our needs-led service places emphasis on social inclusion and independence, where people make their own choices. Our team of staff are committed to providing a service which is focused on supporting the needs of each individual to provide positive outcomes. The local general practitioner (GP) visits Millburn each week to help with any health requirements of those we support and in-line with the 'Keys to Life' strategy which we promote here. The establishment of high ratio staffing ensures a supportive framework in which people can achieve their potential in a safe environment with dignity and respect. A key worker is assigned to each person ensuring a holistic approach to individual support and daily fulfilment. Each individual we assist here has an individual support package, specifically planned to reflect their personal needs. Choice is paramount and individuals are encouraged to make informed decisions of their own and maintain independence. We encourage those living at Millburn, together with their families, to actively participate in the planning of support, which is continually monitored. Standards and values are further promoted by ensuring individuals are given positive choices. The staffing structure offers extensive senior and management cover and specialist expertise including our full time Positive Behaviour Support lead who oversees individualised guidelines throughout the service.
