Morecambe Road School is a maintained co-educational day special school for students aged between 3 and 16 years living in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding districts. The school caters for approximately 150 students with a variety of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, primarily moderate or severe learning difficulties, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our school offers all its students a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, including full entitlement to the National Curriculum. Each pupil has their own Individual Education Plan and the school has a strong commitment to inclusion and personalised learning. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Qualifications offered include Pupils can work towards General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) Maths, English and Art Level 1 Horticulture, Hair & Beauty, Film Making, Food Hygiene Awareness Functional Maths, English and Information and communications technology (ICT) BTec Science and ICT Entry Level Maths, English, Science, History, physical education (PE), Catering, and personal and social development (PSD) Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
