Mount Street is an infant school catering for pupils between the ages of 3 and 7. The numbers fluctuate due to admission of pupils from the army and women's refuge in the town. Total numbers of pupils are usually 160-200. The school has a nursery class and an Area Learning Support Class. The school has 7 full time teachers including the Area Learning Support Class teacher and the Headteacher. Most classes have a qualified teacher and a National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB) or classroom assistant. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
