Mountwood Academy is a residential and day independent school situated in the centre of Preston, Lancashire. It offers high quality education and residential care provision for young people with physical and learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and complex needs with associated challenging behaviour. We offer a 24 hour, 7 days per week holistic approach to learning, achievement and progress. Regardless of disability we believe all young people have unique strengths, talents and skills. Our goal is to help identify and develop these in order to build their confidence, self belief and self worth. Our team of specialist teachers, assistants and residential staff are supported through access to external therapists and psychological services. The young people's environments are warm, welcoming and homely, and are decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The young people's areas are spacious and bright and all the bedrooms have ensuite facilities.
