Mymswood Life Skills Centre
Main information
Type of service: Hospital services
The Hawksmere Centre is a CAMHS Tier 4 service providing healthcare and education exclusively to young people with autism. The centre is able to support 36 young people with high functioning autism and Asperger syndrome who may also be experiencing mental health issues, be at risk of offending, be sectioned under the Mental Health Act and/or challenging existing services. Every young person will have a person centred care plan created by our clinical and therapeutic team that will meet the individuals changing needs - the clinical and therapeutic team are experienced in providing positive outcomes for young people with autism and work holistically and use a problem solving approach to create a robust care approach that also encourages and supports the individual to develop new skills. The young person will also be supported to continue with their education through an Individualised Education Plan and develop new skills and interests both on-site in the Resource Centre and within the community.
