The residential service provides accommodation 52 weeks per year, 24 hours per day. The accommodation is in two houses on one site, each with six bedrooms. The houses are very much part of the community and shops, parks, swimming pool, library, etc are all within walking distance. There is also an excellent bus service into Croydon town centre where you can access, cinemas, theatre, an art gallery, several shopping centres and the railway station, in a thriving cosmopolitan area. The Croydon Tramlink service, which offers a high-speed link from New Addington to central Croydon and Wimbledon. All the staff at St Edward's are trained to a very high standard and are skilled in understanding autism, using the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework, Studio III and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH), as well as many other areas which are essential to high quality service delivery.
