NAS Northern Ireland Outreach Service
Main information
Type of service: Outreach, Respite and short breaks
Service URL: http://www.autism.org.uk/northernireland
By providing outreach support for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), our aim is to ensure that the individual is supported to access the wider community and participate in everyday life. We work closely with both the individual and their family as well as other agencies who might be involved in their support. The team can also provide training and consultancy. Some potential benefits of outreach may be: a "wrap" around service; improved quality of life and confidence, improved relationships and respite for families and carers. Support is available 24 hours a day and can be provided in the community, at home, in an educational setting, in hospital and during leisure activities.
