At The National Autistic Society (NAS) we are committed to championing the rights and interests of people with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Our aim is to create a wider understanding of autism. NAS Training and Consultancy have ten years experience delivering training in ASDs to organisations, practitioners and professionals throughout the United Kingdom (UK). Last year we trained over five thousand people. To help your organisation obtain an understanding of autism, our Training and Consultancy team can work with you to determine your learning requirements, deliver tailored, in-house training and evaluate its effectiveness. We run a range of courses that deal with issues affecting people with autism, their families, their communities and their culture. These include: Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) 1: Understanding autism/Asperger syndrome, challenging behaviours and ASD, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH), communication and ASD, sensory issues and ASD, sexuality and ASD, SPELL, effective partnership with parents and carers, early years and autism, and person-centred planning and autism. We also work in partnership with a number of universities to run validated undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
