Newton Dee is a Camphill community in Aberdeen, Scotland. We offer a home and meaningful work along with opportunities for personal development to adults with learning disabilities and other special needs. The community produces craft items in its workshops and, in order to foster links with the local community, it operates a bakery and a confectionery. A cafe, gift shop and health food store within the community attract a great deal of custom and interest. Additional work is available within the domestic context of the 20 plus households in Newton Dee where meals are prepared and the full spectrum of domestic duties need to be undertaken.

In all some 200 people live and work within the Newton Dee community. Around half have additional support needs. The others are mainly co-workers and their families, students employees and volunteers. Newton Dee's home life is based around large and small households ranging from 4 to 16 people, these houses offer supported living. In addition there are apartments, bedsits, and independent living. We welcome referrals from individuals, their families and social workers. Successful applicants are normally invited to try life at Newton Dee for a period to ensure that the lifestyle really meets their needs and is mutually beneficial. Accepts volunteers to work within the community.
