North Lincolnshire Autism Spectrum Education Team (ASET) provides support to schools, families and services to enable children and young people on the autism spectrum to achieve their potential in mainstream settings. Support provided to schools and services includes: support packages and interventions; intensive support within the two primary and secondary ASET bases; information and staff training about the autism spectrum; access to a library of resources; advice to staff about a child's individual barriers to learning; awareness raising with classmates about the autism spectrum; and help with transition from class to class, school to school and beyond. Support provided to the family may include: information about the autism spectrum and related difficulties; access to a library of resources; liaison with other professionals and agencies both national and locally who may be of assistance to the family; parent support groups across the region; Earlybird Plus and Cygnet training programmes for parents and carers; and Sibling support. We also offer a service to colleges, pre-school and other settings as well as primary and secondary schools.
