Northgate School Arts College is a secondary special school for pupils with learning difficulties ranging from moderate to severe. We also have two groups of pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These pupils are taught the basic subjects in their class groups but go to specialist classes for specific subjects. Pupils able to cope are integrated in to other classes for some subjects, with or without support as appropriate. The school occasionally accept pupils from other schools as work experience. Pupils cannot be accepted on role without a statement of special educational needs (SEN), pupils from outside the United Kingdom (UK) are excluded, unless they are able to fulfil this criteria ie a statement from the Local Authority (LA).
