Type of service: Nursery and pre-schools

The service provides Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual timetables and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH). The Kennedy Leigh Family Centre has a ball pond, sensory room, inclusive 30 place nursery, natural garden and an adventure playground equipped with resources that are also accessible to wheelchair users. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Approximately 4/30 service users in the nursery have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at present. The school caters largely to the Jewish Community, but not only.
