Oakfield House offers residential and day services to 20 adults with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Those who live residentially also have access to an on-site resource centre which operates Monday to Friday. Oakfield House is only 2.5 miles out of Birmingham City Centre and is located in a residential area near to a wide range of local facilities. This includes local shops, parks, pubs, colleges and the Midlands Arts Centre. Activities offered on-site include art and crafts, aromatherapy and massage, music, cookery, groups to support the development of personal independence skills and computers. Off-site service users can go to drama, bowling, on lengthy walks, shopping, swimming, golf and so on. In addition, some service users also attend local colleges. Referrals to the service are accepted via Social Services, Community Nurses and/or parents/carers.
