Type of service: Residential services
Oakley House supports people living with Asperger syndrome. The aim of the service is to help users to understand their autism, to develop coping strategies to overcome their anxieties and to develop independent living and social awareness skills. Many of the service users at Oakley House access local colleges or undertake paid or volunteer work. Staff support residents to find work by supporting them to write their CV, complete the application form, do interview training, Oakley House aims to provide the residents with advice and help and to support them in accessing activities and services which will make a difference to their lives. The service likes to encourage independence skills and will support residents to help with cooking and daily tasks around the home. Each resident will have their own care plan bespoke to their needs and capabilities. The staff will help them to work towards gaining new skills and prompting independence. We provide care pathways enabling individuals living with autism, mental health and learning disabilities a variety of routes to independent living.
