Oakwood High School is a school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have associated problems such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome and behavioural problems. The pupils with an ASD are educated in groups with other pupils with ASD and mixed groups. They have access to a full curriculum as well as speech and language and social groups with the Language and communication teacher. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Another intervention, approach and programme offered by the school is British Sign Language (BSL).
