Type of service: Assessment, Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools, Respite and short breaks
On Track Education Centres provide a flexible choice of full- and part-time centre based education programmes for students who are unable to attend mainstream schools or colleges. On Track has 6 Department for Education (DfE) registered centres - Mildenhall (Suffolk), Totnes (Devon), Wisbech (Cambridgeshire), Silsoe (Bedfordshire), Westbury (Wiltshire) and Northampton (Northamptonshire). Each student has a personalised learning programme which includes: qualifications and accreditation; work related learning (Key Stage 4 (KS4)) or Life Skills (KS3); physical fitness and health and wellbeing programmes; and work experience and/or mini enterprise projects (Busitracks). Students are normally taught in small groups and 1:1 tuition is also available if required. All courses are tailor made to meet the individual needs of the student. Students may attend an On Track Education Centre for specific sessions and courses on a part-time basis. On Track offers a 15-hour programme for academic sessions for either AM or PM dependent on which KS the student belongs to. The academic sessions last 3 hours during which the student attends 4 40-minute lessons per session covering English, maths, science, ICT, PHMCSE and humanities or art & craft selected from qualification based courses. Practical and vocational courses are included in the full-time 25-hour package but may be offered as 'stand alone' sessions for other interested students, dependent on staff availability.
