Osborne School is a community special school in Winchester catering for pupils between the ages of 11 and 19. The school was created following the closure and amalgamation of two schools for learners with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD) and moved into brand new, purpose built accommodation in September 2003. Some of the pupils here have moderate learning difficulties, some have severe or profound learning difficulties and some are on the autism spectrum. The school also has a residential unit of 10 places for pupil’s aged 16 and over. The school has 16 classes in the main school and 2 post-16 classes which are housed in the residential unit.
