Parents of Ealing Self-Help Training Scheme (P.E.S.T.S.) is a local support group for families with children with all types of special needs, including autism. We run a parent/carer and child play session specifically aimed at children with special needs aged 0-5 years at Windmill Children's Centre twice a week. There is no waiting list. All our staff and volunteers are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and trained in supporting children's development. Many have first-hand experience in living with a child with autism. We offer support and friendship to parents and organise short break trips for the whole family. Door-to-door transport is provided for those who don't have their own transport. We also have visiting speakers who range from Ealing's Paediatric Occupation Therapists, Speech Therapists to professionals who can give benefit advice. We also have regular visits from the Early Support Keyworkers and the Specialist Health Visitor and Play and Stay session for children with special educational needs (SEN) under 5 years..
