Parkview is a large, detached house supporting seven adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, multiple disabilities and associated complex needs. There are seven good sized single bedrooms, three of which can be found on the ground floor, a spacious lounge, small quiet room, dining room, two large bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen area. Our day services building can be found in the grounds, providing areas for sensory stimulation and relaxation, arts & crafts activities and an educational room with computer facilities. Our main aim is to enable our service users to live as fulfilling a life as possible through a value-based approach to meeting individual needs. We provide care, support and advice to enable individuals to develop their daily living skills, independence, community integration and decision making about their own future. Through individual attention we encourage personal development and self respect by providing high standards of professional care that honours peoples’ privacy, dignity and choice. We provide clinical assessment, rehabilitation and special skills training. Referrals can be made by a Social Worker/Care Manager or directly from parents themselves. However, before assessment can take place the Care Manager acting on behalf of the service user must be consulted.
