Paul Mawer offers assessment and therapy for children and adolescents. Through former work as a CAMHS consultant he undertook assessments and supported parents who had a wide range of difficulties including children on the autism spectrum. He has provided reports for court on children who have a range of problems including severe learning difficulties. He has experience in working with children who are looked after by the local authority and who may have challenging behaviour. Assessment procedure consists of taking a full history with both the person concerned and their carer. A variety of diagnostic tools are used including intellectual assessment, various normative tests of educational skills and solution-focussed type questionnaires. Recommendations are made which are both practival and effective. Paul Mawer can visit clients in their home or nursery, school or college in the West Midlands area.
