Pembroke Dock Community School is a 700 pupil primary school (3-11 years) with an attached centre for pupils with autism. The unit is called Pembrokeshire Primary Centre for Autism. Pupils with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are taught in four mainstream classes, in the Pembrokeshire Primary Centre for Autism and in a combination of provision. Specialist staff support pupils in mainstream classes and directly teach within the Pembrokeshire Primary Centre for Autism. We reaffirm the value we place on inclusion to the effect that the pupils in the Autistic Centre are encouraged to access mainstream sessions, as appropriate, with support from staff from the Centre. Holiday respite services are offered just for their own pupils. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils with Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check essential.
