PUSH is a charitable organisation promoting change that will lead to inclusion in the community for people with learning disabilities in Perth and Kinross. PUSH started in 1989 with a parent led group and has now developed into an innovative organisation that tackles social inclusion in the community. At PUSH, we offer an information service and can access information about housing, supported holidays, money, learning, activities and many more subjects. The information you want can be explained and we can help to get you the support you need. PUSH can offer training courses for individuals, parents/carers and other agencies. Topics we cover are: Person Centred Planning; Get Together; Volunteer Training; and Learning Disability Awareness. PUSH also runs several groups: Lets Go Group (social activities); Moving On - this group meets on a Wednesday morning and is for people who wish to learn about issues relevant for independent living, such as safety, health and self-care; Growing Older with a Learning Disability (G.O.L.D) - this group meets on a Friday morning and is designed for those 50+; Youth Achievement Award (Y.A.A) - this group meets on a Thursday evening and is designed for people who want to challenge themselves.
