Rainbow School is an independent, non-profit making school for children with autism aged 4-17 years. We provide intensive interaction, offering an approach to learning based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and verbal behaviour (VB). Each pupil follows a personalised programme based on the National Curriculum, tailored to their individual needs. We provide an education that enables each pupil to grow in confidence and autonomy. The school is staffed by a Headteacher, a Deputy Headteacher, Teachers, ABA Consultants / Supervisors, Class Leaders and ABA Tutors. In addition it employs therapists for speech and language and occupational therapy. It provides 1:1 teaching for up to 64 children, times are 9.15am-3.15pm for primary aged children, 9.30am-3.30pm for year 5 and above, Monday to Friday for 39 weeks per year. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Children are funded to attend Rainbow School by their Local Authorities (LA)..
