Redcliffe House
Main information
Type of service: Day services, Residential services
Redcliffe House is an eight bedroom home for people with autistic spectrum disorders. The service receives residents through social services and self referrals. It is situated in a quiet residential area of Mansfield, approximately half a mile away from bus and rail stations and four miles from junction 28 of the M1 motorway. All rooms are single with access to bathroom facilities, television and telephone. Specialist services and alternative therapies can be provided as required and include art therapy, reflexology, speech therapy, psychology and psychiatry. After an application is made for a residential placement, a thorough assessment is carried out, which identifies the individual's strengths and needs. If one-to-one support is requested, then it can be provided. Residents' individual choice and independence is promoted. A wide range of activities are offered both on and off-site and include work based placements, sound and light mixing, personal development, relaxation, keep fit and sensory stimulation. The service has Sky television, provides in-house music lessons and residents can access a large off site allotment facility. Redcliffe accepts volunteers to work with its service users.
