Rookery House provides a specialist therapeutic unit providing education and essential life skills for young adults aged 18 to 30 with Aspergers Syndrome and associated difficulties. They provide education, independence, social skills and therapeutic programmes designed to enable the individual to progress towards more independent living. These young adults may have previously left or failed in full time education because of their inability to cope in a mainstream setting and found the transition to adult life difficult. They may have a history of challenging behaviour and need help developing strategies so they can appropriately manage their anxieties..
Rookery Houses services include: .
- 52 week provision
- Intensive programmes lasting between three months and five years
- Planned outcome of transition into more independent setting
- Individual social, personal and educational development programmes
- Therapy programmes
- Strategies to assist with anxieties
- Support in work and college placements
- Preparation for employment or higher education
- Opportunities to integrate into community life
