Roselyn House School
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Schools
Roselyn House School promotes an environment for young people who display a variety of needs within the autism spectrum. This provision is available for boys and girls with a statement of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) 10-19 years and who are referred through the local authority. We have a range of staff who provide an environment where specific individual learning programmes are used to promote education. This is achieved by creating specific learning support plans which look at raising achievement, focusing on learning styles, specific interventions and therapeutic/social and emotional aspects of learning. We have intervention in anxiety/stress management, speech, language and communication therapy, literacy/numeracy development, social skills/interaction and development of self esteem/regulation. All students are provided with opportunities to learn and develop as an individual through accreditation and are encouraged to grow as young people within our society. Short breaks are for their own pupils. Volunteers may be accepted. The school uses the SPELL framework. Individualised programmes are designed to meet the specific needs of our students. This is achieved by consistency of realistic expectations. We aim to develop the individual's confidence by encouraging positive and understanding relationships in a calm, supportive and relaxing environment. Roselyn House Individual Support Education (RHISE) provides 1:1 bespoke individualised education/therapeutic interventions.
